Accessibility
Statement
Effective 7 September 2026
Tristan Media Group builds websites for a living, so it would be a poor look if our own were difficult to use. This page says what we have done, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when we have got something wrong.
What we aim for
We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2, level AA. That is the standard most commonly referenced in United States accessibility law and it is the bar we hold client work to as well.
What that means on this site
- Every text and background pair meets the required contrast ratio. Body text meets 4.5 to 1, large display text meets 3 to 1.
- Headings run in order without skipped levels, so screen reader users can navigate by structure.
- Navigation, the mobile menu, the accordions and the contact form all work with a keyboard alone, and focus is always visible.
- Images carry descriptive alternative text.
- Motion is minimal, and the site honours the reduce motion setting in your operating system.
- Text can be enlarged to 200% without content being lost or overlapping.
Known limitations
Our display typeface is a light weight serif used at very large sizes. It is legible at those sizes but it is not a high legibility face, and we do not use it for body text for that reason. If any heading on this site is hard for you to read, we would like to know.
We have tested with keyboard navigation and automated tooling. We have not yet completed a full audit with assistive technology users, which is the only test that really counts, and we intend to.
